Which one is correct? One tells me that I am one post away from 200, the other let me knows that I am 8 posts away from 200.

Is the 199 counting drafts/unpublished posts? That is the only thing I can think of!
Yeah, what Emmy said is what I guess, too.
drafts, scheduled posts etc etc.
in the dashboard, select only 'published' the numbers should match.
I'm not smart like the others, so I'll just laugh at silly Blogger's math. It's not unlike my own math.

Yeah...I dealt with this too!!! If you have posts that are drafted they count too!!!
